Functions of the Public Health Laboratories Division:
- Contribute to laboratory diagnosis in the face of epidemic outbreaks;
- Perform quality control of laboratory analyses using a laboratory reference system;
- Ensure biosafety aspects related to the operation of reference laboratories;
- Manage the analytical activities of the INS laboratories;
- Contribute to strengthening the quality system at the National Health Service laboratories level;
- Serve as a laboratory reference for disease control and prevention programs, including reportable diseases, in public and private institutions.;
- To carry out laboratory testing related to scientific research conducted by INS;
- To perform other duties that are superiorly determined by the terms of this Statute and other applicable legislation.
